Amber Cottage is a traditional whitewashed Lakeland cottage set at the end of a row of cottages in Ambleside, right in the heart of the Central Lake District. Distant fell views, a roaring wood burner and a cosy interior make this a proper two-person bolthole. No hot tub here but the en-suite spa bath makes up for it.
Ambleside is a market town with independent shops, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. The pier offers cruises on Lake Windermere. Walking routes start from the front door Loughrigg, Wansfell and the Fairfield Horseshoe are all within reach. Grasmere, Grizedale Forest and Coniston Water are all under 10 miles away.
