Ambleside is less than a mile away with shops and places to eat. From the cottage door a footpath leads straight up to Todd Crag just 0. 5 miles away. Waterhead is close by for boat hire and lake cruises. Stagshaw Gardens and Stock Ghyll Force waterfall are both a 1. 5-mile walk away.
