Ambleside is less than 350 metres away on foot. Waterhead on Windermere is under a mile's walk where you can hire rowing boats, canoes, paddleboards or motorboats. Stock Ghyll Force waterfall is also under a mile. Wansfell Pike is 1.5 miles away with panoramic views at the top. An excellent bus service runs into Ambleside so you can skip the car entirely.

The cottage has two bedrooms. The first-floor double has a sloped beamed ceiling with woodland views. The ground-floor twin has a large en-suite with both a bath and a shower. A family shower room sits on the first floor.

Stagshaw Gardens (National Trust) is 1.5 miles away. Hill Top Beatrix Potter's farmhouse is around 8 miles via Hawkshead. Rydal Mount is 2 miles away (5 minutes by car). Grasmere village is 4 miles north (10 minutes).
