The Burgage House Reviews

Great house for our multi generational get together over Christmas great space for all our needs and kitchen very well catered for.
Lovely house in Warkworth, Well equipped and furnished. We would be very happy to stay there again
Lovely property in a great location, a really big back garden , well kept, great views, would be beautiful in the summer. The Burgage is a spacious, extremely well equipped house with high quality white goods, fixtures and fittings . The bed linen and towels were clean, beds were very comfortable. The house was spacious, comfortable with lots of room for a party of 8. There was a small issue, the front room was musty, probably not used as much as the rear lounge and dining room are they are so large and comfortable with wonderful views of the garden. The second bathroom upstairs is very small, but adequate, whilst the main bathroom is extremely large and luxurious. Overall a great property, top class, would definitely stay there again.
Richard
Enjoyed Warkworth as usual having stayed several times before at another nearby property which wasnt available this time , so first time at The Burgage House Excellent position for amenities, well equipped kitchen, nice and warm property throughout. Drawbacks Needs a good clean, shower trap in main bathroom blocked, I actually removed lots of hair to get it to drain at all but still needs more attention. Lots of obvious cobwebs, Childs toy car on floor by tv cabinet in the lounge when we arrived suggested not great attention to detail when cleaning if this was missed. Perhaps could do with a larger TV in the snug? Easy to rectify these issues, overall nice place to stay
Audrey
We had a lovely holiday, house and garden for our family of 5 plus a baby and 2 dogs, house and garden very spacious and very well equipped, everything we needed was there. Ideal situation for the beach at Warkworth and to visit the Northumbria coast, we hope to be back again!
Amanda
Beautiful house with a great garden in a lovely location. There was everything we needed in the house for a comfortable, relaxing stay. There's lots to see and do in the area and plenty of places to enjoy good food and drink. We hope to be back soon.
The property was lovely and had ample room and facilities for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to book again if dates come up. The only thing we would recommend is more loo roll and handwash for guests arriving, and a daily dishwasher tablet. This is just our preference though thinking of people arriving late and maybe not having these things packed.
Great location in a gorgeous village. Close to nice pubs and a lovely hotel that had a vegetarianvegan menu which was much appreciated by one of our group. Four good size bedrooms that meant no need to share for our group of 4 friends. Lovely garden. House was well equipped. It was clean in all the obvious areas but could do with a clean in less obvious places eg skirting boards, dado rails, doors etc. More toilet rolls would have been appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have just spent a week at The Burgage hous Warkworth. It was our first family holiday in Northumberland and what a glorious place it is . The house was fabulous, . Everything was so clean , the bedrooms are fantastic. Its a great place for 8 people and two dogs . We had fantastic weather, the coast from Amble to Holy island is absolutely stunning. Bamburgh beach , we could have been in the Bahamas it was so nice . Lillidorie in alnwick and the gardens , magnificent with kids . Just so much to do but a week is not enough. The leisure centre pass , a great perk . The gym and swimming pool , we all loved it . It also as a great pub with loads of outdoor seating . I cannot praise this area and the house enough . We where a family of 4 adults , 2 seniors , 2 young children and 2 dogs , just marvellous . We will be back. The Parkin family , Belper ,Derbyshire.
Property need a little T. L.C. and totally unable to get the heating to work. But generally enjoyed our stay and every other aspect of the property. Thanks.
Lovely cottage in a nice quiet village A couple of nice dog friendly pubs, castle on the doorstep and easy to walk to the beach. Plenty of room for 8 people, we were 4 and a dog and found everything we needed. Great private garden.. Definitely stay here again
The house itself is lovely with lots of appliances and facilities although we couldn't get the dishwasher to work. It was good of the owner to visit us early in our stay. It was a little chilly but to be fair we we were there during a cold snap and we could have used the additional heating devices provided. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My main beef is access to you. Whatever I tried I couldn't get through.
Darren
Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Beautiful house, well equiped with high standard of furnishings and very comfortable. Very pretty village and lots to do in the area.
We were two families sharing, with four kids age 58. There was plenty of room inside and out and the kitchen, dvds, kids books was well stocked. The house was clean on arrival and had the appropriate brushes etc to keep it clean throughout. Warkworth was a lovely place the castle was 2mins from the front door, river with place to get paddle boards on it 5min walk and a great beach was only 2min drive. We'll definitely consider coming back and have already recommended to friends.
Christy
Terrific house, perfect for a multigenerational family holiday. Best equipped, large kitchen and utility room of any holiday home we've stayed in. Plenty of communal and quiet space. Light and airy open plan living roomdiner leading onto the patio was well used by all, with the option of the lovely quiet front room. Wonderful lower garden and the two different patio areas are so well equipped with a child's picnic table and two outdoor sofa sets. Rear of the house is a sheltered, peaceful sun trap and we sat out comfortably each evening. Big bedrooms and good shower and family bathrooms. Plenty of hot water. Bed linen and towels very good quality. The perfect blend of a stately holiday house with a beloved family feel. On a busy road in daytime but always easy to park outside and really only conscious of traffic at the front door. Well insulated with double front door and secondary glazing. Would have been perfect if only the largest bedroom sash window could have been openedit appears painted shut and made for stuffy nights. Spick and span clean, but we were left only 2 toilet rolls for a family of five for a week which contrasted with all the other thoughtful starter packs left for our use. Warkworth beach was our favourite and a 15 minute walk or quicker drive with free parking. Straight onto the coastal path at the beach. Would definitely book again and recommend without hesitation.
This house was perfect for us! Plenty room to spread out, lovely sized kitchen for us to cook and the weather was nice enough we could sit out in the beautiful garden. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, comfy beds and all in a great location. One thing to mention was the kettle was a little temperamental sometimes switched off before it boiled sometimes took us a few goes to get it to behave itself. Not a major issue by any means!
Burgage House is being at home with lots of extras. Cosy and spacious . Plus a perfect English village environment, a short walk from a lovely beach. More spectacular beaches on the coastal drive e g Beadnell and Bamburgh. Strike west for the Cheviots and dont miss wonderful Ad Gefrin in Wooler. Shop in Alnwick and visit the best bookshop, at the old station for lunch and browsing.
Lovely house, beautiful garden that we couldnt make much use of with the wet weather but would be great in summer. Really enjoyed our stay. One criticism would be that its a shame there isnt a downstairs loo would still recommend to family and friends.
Katherine
Great cottage and a nice holiday. A few small issues a tray in the oven needed a soak and clean and it smelled of fish. Generally it was clean but there was a bit of dust here and there. The sofa in the back room looked a bit tired and grubby but it's whitecream which seems a strange choice for a family cottage. These are small niggles, the bathroomsshower rooms were excellent. Good beds with firm mattresses I normally leave a cottage with a bad back but not here. Would recommend it to others.
Richard
The property was unclean in parts. I ran a bath on the first night, the surface of the water was dirty with dust and fluff. The sofa was stained. The bathroom ceiling had a leak that dripped. I am aware this has previously been reported. The utility area contained previous occupants recycling. The property smelt, the windows were filthy.
Dorothy
This was our third stay at The Burgage House as it is a perfect house for our Northumberland holidays. It is spacious and very well equipped, and the beds are very comfortable. The children and our dogs love both the house and garden.
Natalie
The house is spacious and in a great location in Warkworth, we spent most of the time in the sunroom facing into the lovely garden. We felt the house was a bit rough around the edges and could do with some upgrading in terms of the decor. The windows were also filthy which made the place feel a bit shabby. The beds were comfy and lots of space for our group which was great, the garden is beautiful and a real sun trap for most of the day.
House and location were perfect for us. Had to call and report leak in bathroom ceiling after heavy rain but no evidence of anyone attending so hopefully will e fixed before next guests. Also no one had bothered to put recycling bin out the week before or taken their glass away so this was not very good to discover.
Beverley
Lovely big house for an extended family stay in a perfect location. Garden was the best for catching some rays and very doggy friendly, we loved it. Only recommendation is that it could do with a downstairs toilet adding into the large utility room to make it the perfect holiday home.
The location of this property is perfectly situated on a hill with Warkworth Castle overlooking the street. There are also some great beaches nearby. Recommend Alnmouth beach, a visit to Barter Bookshop, and Newcastle with all its hidden gems is within reach, as well as the usual Northumberland sites, Hadrians Wall, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle etc. The house itself is decievingly big with a lovely big garden. There is 2 living rooms, and a large kitchenutility room. All the bedrooms are large too. It's a mix of old and new furniture, and there is a piano. Great location for a large family or more than one family to meet up.
Caroline
Lovely house and garden. Perfect for two families together. Very well equipped kitchen and lovely light livingdining room. We didn't get a chance to sit in the garden due to the weather but it had two lovely seating areas.
Richard
We had a great time everything was as we have come to expect.
Andrea
We stayed at this property over the Christmas period which included Christmas day, the house is absolutely lovely, it exceeded are expectations, it is really large and so well layed out having the kitchen central to the house was so nice, we loved the large dinning table in the open plan living room and the large corner sofa meant there was plenty of seating for us all, we were a party of eight. . Would defiantly rebook again.

A great house in the centre of Warkworth The house is deceptively large with four good sized bedrooms The garden and patio area were lovely but it was cold and the patio became an ice rink A very warm house which was helpful in the minus temperatures Would definitely recommend to other plenty of space for a large group or family
A lovely house, felt like a home from home. Well equipped, good location, good to have parking for 1 car outside.
What a gorgeous house! The house and garden are exceptionally well equipped. Inside, there is plenty of room to spread out and the garden is both child and dog friendly. We had a wonderful week at The Burgage House and would highly recommend it.
A lovely spacious warm holiday home which was very well equipped. Perfect for two families with children and a dog.
We spent a wonderful week in the Burgage House. It is a lovely light and welcoming home with very comfortable living areas and a brilliantly equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The beautiful garden with its terrace and seating area really added to our enjoyment of the holiday. It was a great base for exploring the beautiful Northumberland countryside with Warkworth beach in walking distance and great cycle routes along the coast. Thank you for a very enjoyable week
Excellent, lots of space with everything you needed, comfortable seating in and out. Felt home from home. Never had so much provided ........this was wonderful!
