Bisley House Reviews

Gillian
This was our 3rd stay which speaks for itself. Bisley House is a great base for your Northumberland holiday, close to the centre of Amble but in a quiet neighbourhood. The owners are close by to help with any questions and obviously take great pride in the house as shown by the care and work they put in to it, keeping it clean and well equipped ready for your holiday. Not to mention the amazing welcome goodies they provide for their guests!! It's a lovely home from home suitable for a couple, family and for our furry friends!!
Fantastic house and very comfortable. Dogs loved running around the garden which goes all around the house. Nice and quiet. Host and hamper great.

Bisley House is a gem of a place. This is our second visit and we have already planned our third which speaks for itself!. The house itself is lovingly looked after by its owners, well equipped with modern appliances and provides plenty of space for guests to relax. It has a lovely big enclosed garden for your doggie friends to explore. The house is located in Amble itself with all the necessary amenities on the doorstep and within easy reach of all the other places along the beautiful Northumberland coastline. We've had a memorable couple of weeks at Bisley House and are now looking forward to our next adventure....
Bisley House is an absolute gem, this was the second time we have stayed at the property and it will not be the last. The house is cosy and comfortable and so well maintained with every facility you could wish for to enjoy your stay. The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs and it is only a short walk to the town or a 5 minute drive to the lovely beaches nearby. The owner is an exceptional host great communication and on hand should you need anything. The welcome hamper is a bonus. Anyone using this property will not be disappointed.

Bisley House was very spacious, clean, comfortable and warm we went in November. The wrap round garden a bonus for our jack russell she loved it. The location is quiet and convenient for the harbour, marina and shops. Amble is beautiful and we loved sitting by the estuary at dusk, the Hauxley Wildlife Reserve and The Old Boathouse for food and drink anytime day or night. Warkworth and its Castle and Bertrams Restaurant were a delight too. We will be back.

Thanks very much. We've had a lovely time ay Bisley House, Amble. It's a gorgeous house in a lovely area and we can't praise Russ, the owner, enough for the standard of care he's put into restoring and maintaining the house. It's a credit to him and his wife. We hope to come back in the not too distant future. Thank you also for your easy to use site and selection of properties.
Very well equipped and comfortable house. Owner very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
Debbie
We loved Bisley House, it's a beautiful house and the cleanest we've been in. Our labrador Bruce loved the enclosed garden which goes all around the house. The generous welcome hamper was much appreciated thanks. The house is in a great location you can walk into town, we had a couple of great meals at the Harbour Inn including Sunday roast, the Boathouse always good, dogs can go in both. Taj Mahal indian restaurant is excellent we got a takeaway. We also walked 20 mins to Brewis Beer Co. behind Morrisons on the industrial estate which was a great find with good hazy beers and fabulous street food it's open Thurs Sat from 4pm and Sun from 2pm. We did some fabulous walks, you can walk to Walkworth from Amble and then onto Walkworth beach which is beautiful and no dog restrictions you can also park at the beach for free, in fact all the beaches we went to had no dog restrictions all year. We drove to Bamburgh which is well worth the drive, the beach is tremendous and goes for miles, also went to Creswell beach another great beach. Almouth is a beautiful village and beach also great there with free parking. We had the best week and the weather was kind, we will be back to Amble we love it and will definitely book Bisley House again. Thanks for a great week.

Bisley House is a gem. The property is modern, spacious and tastefully decorated. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived. The owners live nearby and are very friendly. They texted us with information about the local market and nearby attractions. We were sad to leave and would definitely book again. Amble itself is a beautiful place. It is ideal for dog owners.
Lovely property with everything you could need. Handy for touring around. Russ and Lisa great hosts.
Brilliant holiday cottage, one of the best we've ever stayed in. Very clean, beds very comfortable, convenient location. Owner extremely helpful. Thoroughly recommended.
Michelle
We enjoyed our stay, house clean and facilities good. Owner very helpful. Area very quiet, no problem parking and an easy walk to town centre. Amble is a nice place to stay with a few shops, pubs and restaurants.
Excellent communication from the owner Russ prior to our stay and on arrival he was present cutting the grass and provided us with the background of the house and also some tips and guides for the local area. The house itself is spacious and comfortable please ignore any negative reviews regarding the facilities as they are second to none. The garden was fantastic for both us and the dogs, we were able to sit out and enjoy the lovely weather knowing that the garden was totally secure and it is not overlooked. Only a short walk into Amble and all the local amenities. We are regular visitors to Northumberland and have already booked this property again for later in the year.
Lovely immaculate home from home property. Location for us was great in a very quite area of Amble. Lovely garden for the dog Would recommend and hope to visit again sometime.
Jonathan
Bisley House is the perfect holiday home in the perfect place! It is set in a quiet residential area where the only noticeable noise comes from birdsong! We were a family of 4 adults, using all three bedrooms and found the beds very comfortable not sure why mattresses have been highlighted previously as they were fine! Both showers were good and three toilets a gift! The house is a short walk from the centre of Amble where there are coffee shops, restaurants and gift huts galore. There's a short cut at the end of the cul de sac down some steps. It was great to meet Russ on arrival and reassuring to know he lives nearby had there been any issues, which there weren't. The house was immaculately clean and a thoughtful and tasty welcome pack was waiting for us. If the weather is good, the garden is on all 4 sides of the house so you can find shade or sunshine throughout the day. If it's chilly, it is really comfortable and cosy to stay in with books or a movie. We loved Bisley House and really hope to come back in the future!
We had a lovely stay and everything was very well thought out
We love the house. Its location is perfect. We can walk from the door, theres a bus service and we have access to local shops and restaurants. Kitchen equipment is basic but ok for eating in. Theres plenty of space for five adults. I do think the mattresses on the double beds could do with renewing, as both are soft and past their best
The fixtures & fittings were very good. Access to the harbour & Northumberland coast was very good. Bedrooms poorly equipped eg soft mattress, awful pillows, bedding & furniture lacking quality.
Gillian
We really enjoyed our stay at Bisley House. The house provided a great base from which to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast. The house is very comfortable, modern, well equipped with a lovey doggie friendly garden for the family pooch!! Bisley House is located in a quiet neighbourhood just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Amble. Russ the owner was very helpful and communicated information before, during and after our stay. Great place and great stay. Hopefully it won't be too long before we are back.
Kenneth
Our second stay at Bisley House and enjoyed it even more this time! I wont repeat my last compliments but would add that Russ, the owner is a gentleman, he offered an extra nights stay due to the property not being occupied the week before. This meant we started our week on Thursday instead of Friday. Not many owners would do that! I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this property. Needles to say well be back later in the year. Stayed at Bisley house for the week commencing 8th November. What a lovely cosy clean and well equipped house. The welcome pack was amazing and much appreciated. The garden was secure and great for our 2 spaniels. The house is well located for the local shops which are only 5 minutes walk away. The beach is a 5 minute drive as is the large Morrisons Supermarket. We would definitely recommend this house and to prove that, we have already rebooked for the beginning of February 2025.
We had the perfect stay in Bisley House. The owner, Russ, could not have been more helpful. He got in touch before the visit to give guidance and we knew from the start that he would be on hand if necessary but would never be intrusive. On arrival a very generous Welcome pack and wine had been left for us, together with a lovely card from Russ. The house was spotlessly clean and It had been refurbished to a very high standard. The furnishings were tasteful and the property was very well equipped. Even though our stay was in October the house was very warm indeed. If we had wanted to we could have lit the wood burning stove which had been primed with paper and logs. Upstairs the beds were very comfortable. Our son and his wife joined us with their one year old and a very good quality cot and high chair were ready and waiting. Stair gates had been fixed to the top and bottom of the stairs. Parking was easy and the street was very quiet. The centre of Amble was a short 10 minute walk away and the harbour was just 20 minutes away by foot. I can highly recommend Bisley House for a stay. Many thanks to Russ, who is a wonderful host.
Yvonne
A really lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean and clearly recently decorated. Very spacious with an ideal, safe and enclosed garden for our dogs which surrounded the detached cottage. Ideal. Some lovely walks nearby too. Highly recommended!
Robert
We really enjoyed our stay. A lovely clean house in a good location. We hope to return one day.
We had a great week at Bisley House. Amble is, in our opinion, one of the nicest seaside towns in Northumberland as it has retained a proper town with a wide variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is a market on Saturdays and Car boot on Sundays at the harbour. Bisley House is just a short walk from the harbour and we walked to Druridge Bay Country Park one day and then in the opposite direction to Warkworth the following day. Another great walk with amazing views was to the Simonside Hills. The house has been refurbished to a high standard and was equipped with everything we could possibly ask for. Parking was easy too and it was in a quiet area. The owner Russ left us a fabulous hamper with treats for the dog that he loved we loved ours too! Russ came to visit us early in our stay and we learnt about the history of the house. He was very helpful and we felt we could contact him with any questions we had. We definitely recommend staying here and if we come back to Northumberland, we would not hesitate about staying here again.
Andrew

Pamela
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bisley House, it was home from home. It is in a very quiet location but only a short walk to the hub of the town and activities. The secure and private garden was perfect for our Cockapoo to explore. Russ was very welcoming and knowledgeable of the area. He was just a phone call away if we needed anything. We appreciated the lovely welcome pack and the thoughtful extras for our dog. We look forward to a return visit in the future.
Lovely place to stay, has everything you could need. Great for exploring Northumberland. Would certainly recommend.
We had a great holiday. A very clean, comfortable and spacious house, well situated for walking and exploring.
Fantastic holiday home! !! Delightful owners who take a real pride in their property and their guests!! Gorgeous welcome hamper on arrival to a warm, spacious, spotless, super dog friendly house! Excellent location very quiet, a stones throw from the centre of amble and the harbour and easy drives to multiple villages and beaches!! 100 can recommend this property, weve had a fantastic week and hope to be back again soon!!
A very comfortable house with a garden that is totally safe for dogs. Situation is great for touring Northumberland and it is just a short walk into Amble. Supermarket is also within walking distance. Would happily stay here again.
We had a very enjoyable holiday in Amble and the weather was superb. The accommodation was excellent and we were made so welcome when we met Russ the owner on our arrival. The welcome pack was a really nice touch. We would certainly recommend this property as it is in a quiet location and very accessible to all the amenities in Amble. We will certainly be back at some future date.
Excellent location, really well kept and maintained, we met Russ the owner who ... Excellent location, really well kept and maintained, we met Russ the owner who could not have been more helpful during our stay and helped us get to know the area a bit better than we would probably would have alone
Andrew
We had a lovely stay and used the house as a satellite from which to travel in all directions. The children 3 and 5 absolutely loved it, as did we. There are great facilities in the house and it was like having a home away from home. The ratings we have provided give you the overview. Only tweaks we would consider A couple of wash tablets dishwasher tablets when initially arriving. A little smaller keyring on the key as it is difficult to shut it in the safety box for fear of breaking it. We cannot think of anything else, and this was only a consideration as we had not had chance to get to the supermarket. Host was brilliant very knowledgeable indeed. We will definitely consider staying here again. It was fab.
