The Olde Stables Reviews

Michelle
A lovely cottage in a great location. Communication was very easy, access to the cottage was easy. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could every want, I would not hesitate to book it again. The only negative thing for me, was the lighting in the 2nd bedroom was too dim to read my book, I had to use my phone's torch. Other than that, everything was great.
An interesting conversion of a stable with loft. very well done and with lots of equipment. very comfortable. the gift of wine, milk, biscuits, cereal, flowers were very much appreciated. and, Warkworth is interesting with a good walk beside the river
Jacqueline
The Olde Stable is a beautiful cottage. Set over three floors, it is extremely well presented with lots of interesting details. The cottage is very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Weve stayed in lots of cottages over the years, and this is one of the best. Warkworth is an interesting village and makes a good base to explore the Northumberland coast.
Comfortable, quirky cottage in a great location in the charming village of Warkworth. Lots of thoughtful touches by the owners.
We 2 couples chose the property because it had one ensuite and a separate bathroom, secure bike storage and was very reasonably priced. We were delighted with the property and its location. Our hosts very generously provided a welcoming bottle of wine and breakfast provisions. Warkworth is a beautiful place and a perfect starting point for exploring the coastline by bike.
Nicola
The cottage is as lovely as all the other reviews suggest. Well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches that made our stay so much more enjoyable. We particularly appreciated the picnic blankets and the fan in the bedroom. Everything is spotlessly clean too. The beds are comfortable as is the sofa and the chairs. Warkworth itself is a wonderful place to stay. The beach is 15 minutes, the castle 10 minutes and the river 5 minutes walk from the cottage. We were there for a rare August bank holiday weekend with gorgeous weather and still always found somewhere to park. We will be back soon!
Kirsty
We had such a lovely time at The Old Stable. Everything we could think of was provided for. The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the decoration was also very tasteful. It actually looked like a cosy home. The kitchen was fully stocked with different cooking tools. Plus there were condiments, tea bags, little boxes of cereal all very helpful on those days where we hadn't managed to swing by a shop. As well as 3 smart tv's for evening entertainment, there were also a good selection of games and jigsaws. There were no shabby bits. You could tell the house was really looked after. Finally, the location was lovely and quiet. Right next to the river bend in Warkworth, just down the road for the stunning castle. We would definitely stay here again.
Lesley
We had a lovely time, it was an excellent cottage in a great location.
Tracey
We had a lovely stay at The Olde Stables which is very well equipped for all your needs. The location is brilliant for exploring the area. We always managed to get a parking spot nearby.
Kirsten
A lovely cosy place with a wonderful welcome pack. . much appreciated the wine after the long drive! Central location to all sight seeing places. Beautiful beach nearby. The cottage itself had a cosy but modern feel with all the amenities you need. Would definitely recommend this little gem.

The cottage was one of the best we have stayed in. The cleanliness, decor and comfort was outstanding. Plus the location of the cottage was spot on. We loved everything about the cottage and couldnt fault anything. Warkworth is a beautiful village, with a great selection of pubsrestaurants and the parking was very easy in the free spaces. We would highly recommend this cottage.
Frances
Our stay was just lovely. The cottage was extremely well presented, comfortable and was spotless. We met the owners, when we couldn't turn the oven on and they arrived within minutes to sort us out! It was a really pleasant and restful break.
We truly enjoyed staying in this cosy cottage where everything was considered. I would like the idea of going back again and I have no hesitation in recommending it to other people.
Our 2nd stay in this wonderful cottage. Tracey & Russ are such a lovely couple and have made this a beautiful home you just don't want to leave. I Just love this village and the surrounding area. The Masons Arms does the most wonderful Meat pie with homemade chips

Jackie
Great cottage and in excellent position for Northumberland coast. Has all the comforts and extras you would expect. Very clean and lovely decor. Will be back!
Fantastic week spent at the The Olde Stables saw this property the year before whilst out walking coastal path looked tempting so booked,Really glad we did everything has been thought about lovely welcome pack on arrival. The beds and the whole cottage super comfortable 15 min walk and your on a stunning beach very convenient for days out to all local places. The kitchen was fully equipped if you like cooking even electric steamer and slow cooker left in property which we loved after a long days walking and exploring, been to Northumberland many times. Lots of books and information left in property for those wetter days nights plenty of games to keep you amused.lovely hot powerful shower in main bath room couldnt fault anything my only concern before we went was no on site parking but the maket place is only a stones throw away plenty of nice size spaces for larger vehicles and we always managed to get a space on our evening return failing that plenty of nearby street parking obviously on a first come first served but dont let the parking put you off.Would highly recommend some nice local eateries in village but everyone has a different opinion on whats good and not so good when eating out.All in all a well kept and maintained property keep up the good work nice to find such a lovely holiday accommodation and weve stayed in many over the years. Will definitely return much more exploring to do in Northumberland.
Jackie
Superb cottage in lovely historic village. Stunning walks and sea views in Northumberland so it was just a great holiday. Cottage is very clean, well equipped and a great welcome pack. It was our second stay here and was just as good as the first! In fact I would stay again as I dont think you would find a better place in Northumberland. Great owners and very helpful. Thanks
Paul and Lisa
The Olde Stables is by far the best provisioned self catering cottage we have ever stayed in. The cottage is quirky and very comfortable. With the weather more Algarve than Amble we smugly enjoyed the acres of beautiful beach and playing about in the river .. and of all things the North Sea!
Debbie
My family of 3 2 adults 1 child had a great stay at The Olde Stables. The owners gave us a fantastic welcome with provisionals along with a birthday card, cake and bottle of prosecco for my birthday. The property has lots of amenities, was extremely clean and is beautifully decorated too. I would absolutely recommend The Olde Stables for a family break away in Northumbria
Beautiful property, plenty of storage and many thoughtful touches. The hamper of goodies were delicious and really appreciated. Cool in the heatwave, and warm when it turned colder. Lovely pleasant spot to sit out in, and the village was had plenty of places to eat and drink, and lots more places to explore.
Lovely property in great location. Very generous welcome package was much appreciated.
Jeanette
The cottage was the best we have ever stayed in. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The decor was very pleasing and the snacks very much appreciated. All in all it made our holiday perfect.
Gordon
Very comfortable and very well equipped. Spotlessly clean .Excellent WiFi and television. Beautifully positioned in the centre of a pretty village with amenities close at hand . Lovely walks in the area and lots to do and see . The only gripe would be the lack of light coming into the property and no view . But we were out most of the day anyway making the most of the beautiful area. Very generous hosts leaving lots of goodies which were appreciated, thank you .
Maxene
This cottage is wonderful and the attention to detail was just perfect. I want to recommend this to everyone but I also want it all to myself. Will be coming back again
Thank you very much, Russell and Tracey. The Olde Stables is a lovely holiday home with everything we needed, and more. Warkworth is a charming village. We have really enjoyed our week.
FANTASTIC Cannot recommend this property enough. Extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Owners have thought of everything to make it feel like home from home. Will definitely be returning
Steven
We had a fantastic stay at the Olde Stables, such a relaxing week and just what we needed. The house has everything you could need for a cosy break away. We were welcomed by some lovely essentials and treats which made it all the more special. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
Joanne
This property is outstanding. It was spotlessly clean, very well kitted out and the owner's eye for detail and interior styling is very special. We had a very relaxing time in this property and there is so much to do in the area, the week flew by. We had one issue and it was resolved immediately. Highly recommend.
Andrew
We thought this was a really lovely property. Cosy and full of personal touches all over the house. We also appreciated all of the many extras that were left for us wine, all the breakfast treats, all of the essentials left in the fridge etc. Location was brilliant next to the historic church, 15 mins walk to the dunes and beach and 5 mins walk to the castle. Also very quiet while being so close to three really lovely pubs! Really enjoyed our stay..
Rebecca
We were very impressed with the booking and communication from start to finish. The cottage was stunning, immaculate and there were so many little extra touches that were really wonderful. Christmas decorations were beautiful and the welcome hamper was really thoughtful. Everything was immaculately clean. The bike storage was a great bonus. There was absolutely nothing we would change or could suggest to improve. Thank you.
Maggie
This is one of the best cottages we've ever stayed in, and all the thoughtful little and big! touches really made it wonderful. Hugely appreciated all you did for us and we had a very good few days. Many thanks! The cottage is really lovely, and incredibly well stocked. We had not expected any breakfast so that was really a very kind gesture, especially as the shop wasn't open. Communication was excellent, and we'd definitely recommend this as a stay.
We have stayed in a number of UK holiday cottages over the years, some good ,some less so however we would say that the olde stables in Warkworth was amongst the very best. The cottage is so well located in the village, everything being a 3 minute walk away. The village has pubs, cafes, restaurants and a few shops. The facilities are excellent, great well equipped kitchen, new television, internet connection, big walk in shower and two comfortable double bedrooms, each with a TV. The cottage has been converted and decoratedstyled in the best way, it really is a home from home. The owners have put a great deal of thought into making it to such a good standard, the little touches when you arrive, bottle of wine, eggs, milk, orange, butter and bread in addition to a supply of breakfast cereals. They had also made the cottage feel Christmassy for us, a beautiful tree, subtle decorations and Christmas lights outside. Living close by they were around when we arrived, provided useful information about the locality and gave the impression they would be on hand if anything was required. Cottage is within a converted stable block, its close to a local hotel but is not troubled by noise or disturbance. Its a lovely place and one I believe we will return too. Probably the best cottage we have stayed in in the UK.
