We visit Amble several times a year to visit relatives and have stayed in a number of different holiday lets. This is the first stay at this property but I hope it won't be the last as it ranks as one of the best we've stayed in. Well positioned, very clean, comfortable and wellequipped. It's dog friendly and in a quiet location with good parking. It certainly ticked all the boxes for us.
A lovely property in a great location. Good sized rooms. Very comfy bed! Note that the dishwasher is no longer operational.
Excellent cottage. Very clean and lovely decor. Two minutes walk to the sea and a shop. Very close to the harbour, perfect location! Never had a problem parking directly outside. I highly recommend.
Suzanne
Lovely town and house is ideally placed for harbour and seafront to walk the dog. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the house, Amble is a lovely friendly place, people are very friendly and we enjoyed many chats along the way. Will definitely be back at some time in the future!
Lovely location, very clean, if dishwasher is not to be replaced needs to come out of facilities available as only found out on day that it was not working when asking for access code to property.
Catherine
We loved our stay at Seashell cottage. It was very comfortable and well equipped, idealy placed for travelling around the area. Amble itself was a lovely little fishing village. We also liked all the quirky decor and fixtures to the cottage.
Pauline
Lovely cottage. Situated close to the harbour and town. The cottage had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Good communication with the owner. Lovely Pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance.
A lovely cottage that is very comfortable, well equipped and in a perfect location for exploring Northumberland and Amble. We had an amazing week and will definitely be back.
Seashell cottage is spacious yet homely, central yet peaceful. We especially admired the honest summary for Seashell as it really is just a short walk to Amble's harbour and beaches as well as essential shops. The bed is the comfiest we've encountered and the cooker efficient. Best of all is that Seashell is so we'll placed for all that Northumbria has to offer. We visited with ease Hadrian's Wall Bamburgh Castle Warkworth Castle Lindisfarne Castle and Priory. We even stopped at the Angel of the North on our way home! All round, the lovliest week in the lovliest county.

We arrived at our cottage at just gone four in the afternoon, on first look it made us smile as it was so nice, everything about the cottage is lovely. If we had one moan and its a moan because we are getting older, is the induction cooker I could just about work the oven but for the life of me I couldnt work out the hob. It almost drove this couple of old twits mad. On the Tuesday unfortunately I wasnt well so we had to cut short our holiday and come home which is a six hour drive. We let the owner know and he wished us well, very unfortunate as it was a lovely cottage.
Lovely cottage. Very high spec for the price.
Caroline

A cosy, comfortable and warm cottage, which is tastefully decorated. More spacious than in the photographs. Well positioned for travelling to local attractions.
Really loved Seashell cottage . Lovely and clean with all the facilities you would need for a good stay. Loved the furniture and decor . No Christmas decorations up though not a criticism just would have been nice to have a small tree up or something. We will definitely stay again and hopefully will be able to book for xmas 2026. To be honest I didn't want to come home .
Great property ,clean comfy and warm. Hope to come again
Elaine

Lovely comfortable and very dog friendly cottage which has everything you would possibly need its a real home from home. Its situated minutes from the sea and pier which is perfect for a morning or anytime walk! Amble is a great little town and a perfect base for exploring Northumberland. This was my second visit to Seashell Cottage and it certainly didnt disappoint! Would definitely recommend.
This place is beautiful. Very cosy and tastefully furnished. Close to everything including the sea!we thoroughly enjoyed it. Its really spacious too and I was pleased to see that it truly resembles the photos rather than involving camera trickery! Its absolutely lovely and I wouldnt hesitate to stay again. Particular highlights are the bed and bedding and a lovely deep bath
Beautiful cottage, well thought out with lovely features. Well equipped and clean. Great location. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
We had stayed in Seashell Cottage before and noticed a big improvement , especially the bathroom , which I think was new . You can tell the owners have made an improvement in the decore . Amble is a really nice location to travel from to see Northumberland at its best . The owner of the property was very helpful . We'll definitely consider staying again .
Excellent in all respects
A lovely place to stay , clean and tidy , comfortable bed , close to all ... A lovely place to stay , clean and tidy , comfortable bed , close to all amenities, a good base to explore Northumberland
A lovely place to stay on a quiet street with a park and the sea at the end of the street. Shopschip shop just round corner and a 15min walk to high street shops. Cottage itself was clean and equipped with everything you could need.Amble Sunday market is worth a visit and just round the corner on harbour.
Adrian
Enjoyed our stay in a very well appointed cottage. The standard of the interior was very good, you could tell the owners went the extra mile with the furnishings and ornaments. I did have worries about parking initially neighbour with over zealous signage but in the end there were no issues. The location was very handy for local amenities. Amble was a very pleasant surprise for me, I knew little about the town prior to our stay but it turned out to be a great location.
Graham
Great property, great location for trips and beach. Will be back
We had a lovely week in Seashell Cottage. The cottage itself is within walking distance of the sea, harbour, shop, pub and chip shop, and centrally placed for visiting the surrounding area. We found the cottage really comfortable, clean and cosy, and we loved the decor. All our holiday needs were catered for, even our two dogs had bowls and towels provided! It was our first time in Northumberland, and we wouldnt hesitate in recommending staying in Seashell Cottage.
Jonathan
Lovely clean cottage. Great location in the town, nice and close to the harbour. Highly recommended
The house requires money spending on it as its worn out. TV aerial needs looking at. All channels breaking up in the evening. Bathroom sink hot tap broken. Years of dust under the settees and kitchen unit as toy cars went under them and came out covered in lots of dust and cobwebs. The back yard hadnt been swept for months. Plants in pots dead.
Debbie
First time staying at seashell and wont be our last. Everything you could want and more. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated.
Seashell Cottage was a lovely, cozy place for my stay in Amble. I regularly visit Amble with my wee Border Terrier, Wor Bob, and I have stayed in many holiday Lets. The owner, Steve, was excellent to communicate with and informed me of a couple of very small maintenance issues, which did not affect my stay but I appreciated him mentioning. At the price, Seashell Cottage was excellent value. Its location was perfect for access to the harbour pier, shops a Premier Store is only 100yards away Being able to use the back door for easier access was very convenient, especially if you have a dog with you during your stay. The log burner would be wonderful in the severe winter but the central heating system was superb so the log burner was never needed during my stay. The decor was tasteful and all the appliances were flawless. The bath was wonderful with lots of very hot water on demand. The bed was extremely comfortable I only used the large bedroom but the twin room looked great . I never used the cooker, as I ate out all the time but it was extremely clean. The addition of dog bowls and towels were a nice touch. All in all, I would highly recommend Seashell Cottage and would love to return. Thank you Steve.
Laura Jo
Such a beautiful, homely cottage. Beautifully clean and tidy, so welcoming. The location is perfect, we especially loved the pier. We found the sofas super comfortable and the log burner was very welcome on chilly evenings. Your bed is super comfy too and the room was nice and warm . ThankYou for a lovely stay .
The property could do with a good clean, dirty marks on the walls in the toilet, doors had sticky finger marks all over them, there were also maintenance issues. Some of which were mentioned to us by the owner, kitchen tap dripping constantly. Overall very disappointing. To top it off, the owner contacted us on our journey home, to ask where the plug from the kitchen sink was, implying that we had stolen it. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and 99 of them had been of a good standard, on this occasion, we definitely would NOT return.
Beautiful cottage, very warm and comfortable. Excellent location for enjoying the village, harbour and beach. Couldn't fault anything.
This was our second visit to Seashell Cottage 8 years apart and is simply lovely. Very clean, spacious and location is great.
