Rookery Nook Reviews

Jenny
Beautifully presented & quiet as its set back from the high street. The property was well equipped and we appreciated the Alexa downstairs and digital radio upstairs to be able to listen to music. The welcome basket and fresh flowers were a lovely & thoughtful touch. Warkworth is a great location for exploring the Northumberland coast. If you like fresh sourdough bread then google Garden Room bakery which is based just across the road. Simon makes a selection of sourdough loaves and he delivered to the door. We'd definitely stay here again.
Monica
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The hosts had provided a welcome pack and there were basic cooking items provided as well. Garden catches the last sun of the day. Village has two welcoming pubs and a village shop and the gallery is well worth a visit.
Ken
Rookery Nook is a lovely house in a quiet location though in the centre of the village. There is a nice garden if you bring your dog. It sleeps five with one bedroom ensuite. There are a couple of good pubs and a nice restaurant within a five minute walk. The house is set back from the main road throughout the village so you are insulated from traffic noise. There are steps up to the house so it would not be suitable for anyone who has difficulty walking. We would be very happy to return if back in the area.
Matthew
For a Christmas stay, we found Rookery Nook to be a lovely, warm and cosy little house right in the centre of Warkworth, itself a lovely village in a beautiful part of Northumberland. The house was well-equipped, clean and everything worked well. Given the short days of winter etc, we didn't make use of the small back garden but went out every day for walks and outings. But it would be nice to sit there in warmer weather, I'm sure. Great to be so close to the castle, the river, local pubs and restaurants, the church and walks to the beach or down to Amble. But it was also quiet, we were not disturbed by neighbours or traffic at all.
Antony
We enjoyed our stay at Rookley Nook, the cottage was lovely and had everything we needed.
Gayle
This was our second visit to Rookery Nook having done a week in 2023 too. We loved it so much we booked it again as soon as the calendar opened up. Beautifully peaceful and so quiet, even though it is right in the middle of the bustling village. The house has everything you could possibly need and the outside space is pleasant. Perfectly situated for just wandering around Warkworth or down to Amble, beautiful beach and plenty of options to eat out if you don't fancy cooking. Equally a great location to use as a base while you explore Northumberland. I would highly recommend and it's great value for money.
Julie
Great location, just a bit tricky with the on street parking as to whether we would find a space each time. Lovely view from the back bedroom window. The back garden has quite steep steps that were a challenge to our elderly terrier but he soon found a place to rest on the sunny grass. We enjoyed being able to wander out to the river, beach and local pubs. Lots of period features in property and also nooks!
Jane
A very comfy, homely cottage in a good location. Very nice beds! Always important to us these days!
Theresa
A light bright homely house in a brilliant location - will definitely return!
Brian
Lovely spacious cottage with lots of natural light. Really well equipped with everything we needed. Super location just set back from main street. The enclosed garden was a great space for our dog to sniff about and play. Would highly recommend and definitely return. Thanks for helping make a great holiday in Warkworth.
