Riverside Cottage Reviews

One of the nicest properties we have stayed at. Clean and comfortable and good for the dogs.
A wonderful, cosy cottage in a gorgeous village. The owner went out of her way to help us and her communication was exemplary. We had a lovely week and would return in a heartbeat.
A very well equipped cottage in a very quite central position right next to the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay
We had an excellent stay at Riverside Cottage. Its in the perfect location and really does have everything you need in a holiday accommodation. The facilities are excellent and we really appreciated our welcome pack and the added extra of treats and blankets for our dogs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a super cottage.
Well appointed cottage, great location for walking the dog by the river. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was very good! The owner kept in touch during the week to ensure we were warm and comfortable which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Hopefully not our only visit to Riverside Cottage.
Michelle
Genuinely the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in. Perfect location and so well equipped it was a home away from home and very pet friendly. Thank you so much
Denise
We really enjoyed our stay at riverside cottage. Our first visit to Northumberland and Warkworth is a little gem. We loved the Castle, the river and the beach. We also would recommend the masons arms for food and beer. Thankyou for the welcome pack and the boys enjoyed some chocolates from cabosse! We couldnt have picked a better base for visiting Seahouses, Bamburgh and Alnwick. So many castles and beaches to visit we definitely need to come back.

Lovely quiet location overlooking the river, but with village facilities all to hand. The Store and Post Office has basic needs and good staff, while there is a Morrison's at Amble. Three pubs all do meals, we were torn between The Masons and The Castle Brew House, both good food and staff. Plenty of events in the evenings.
Riverside Cottage is excellent. We had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, it was clean and the shower was great. The location is perfect to explore Warkworth and surrounding areas. The river next to the cottage is very nice and peaceful area to sit, watching the heron, ducks and geese etc. Never had problem parking and not really busy even in half term so very relaxed loading and unloading. There is a Morrisons in Amble and Sainsburys in Alnwick so wasn't a problem picking up supplies. Communication was good, always felt nothing was too much trouble. It was extremely dog friendly and there were spare towels for drying paws, dog bowls, dog bins right by the river at the front. Very thoughtful welcome gift and appreciated the milk for a drink after a long drive. Food at the Masons Arms pub nearby was lovely. Would highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Would also recommend Bertrams just down the road offering huge cakes and nice coffee. We wouldn't recommend the Hermitage Inn though. We visited Alnmouth would recommend the coffee from Scott's, Amble for crabbing & shopping, Craster for Crabbing again, Bamburgh which is beautiful and has a lovely beach and castle. We visited barter books in Alnick which is amazing if you like books. It's only a short drive to Druridge Country Park which is nice for a walk around a lake near the beach and has watersports such as paddle boarding etc. My son and I had a swim at Amble Leisure Club pass included. The pool isn't huge but it is heated and not very busy so was nice. If we return to Northumberland we would happily stay here again. Thanks!

A lovely place to use as a base to explore Northumberland. Clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable, with plenty of space to park the car. The owner was friendly and approachable and made every effort to ensure our stay was a happy one. Recommended from us in Norfolk!
A beautiful place, comfortable beds & sofa, powerful hot shower, well equipped kitchen. Superb location for visiting the north east coast and in the centre of Warkworth with river views. Great communication with the owner, the cottage was spotless congratulations to the property manager! Top class accommodation.
Amanda
Warkworth is a beautiful village and the cottage is in a fabulous location over looking the river, and so close to two great pubs. The cottage was nice and had everything you need for a comfortable holiday. We enjoyed our stay.
Very comfortable cottage had everything we needed
Fantastic property, brilliant location, have already booked to return!
Lesley
We had a very comfortable stay at Riverside. The cottage was warm and welcoming and spacious. Parking was easy and the area on the river was peaceful. Handy for all amenities and lovely coastal walks on the doorstep. Warkworth is a beautiful village. We were left a welcoming gift of chocolates from Cabosse in the village which was a lovely touch delicious. All in all a wonderful stay and highly recommended
Great location, fabulous property. It was lovely to have a little garden space to sit by the river and watch the paddle boarders. Fantastic place for dogs. The welcome pack was very much appreciated by us and the dog. Although we have visited Northumberland for many years now we always manage to find something new!
Jeanette
A beautiful home from home cottage by the river with use of a pretty enclosed gardenacross a very quiet road. Light and very spacious with very comfy sofas. Loved the large dining table in the kitchen. Well positioned for all of Northumberlands costal visits. Would highly recommend.
Surrinder
Holiday house perfectly positioned overlooking the river with Swans and their cygnets, ducklings, seabirds and the ever patient resident Heron from dawn to nightime. So lovely to see and watch the cygnets grow with only the sound of the river flowing and birdsong , and folks chatting. absolutely recommend Cabosse, lovely lady and fabulous treats
A delightful, wellappointed cottage in a good location by the River Coquet n Warkworth. The bed was comfortable, and the view of the river from the bedroom windows was fascinating. There was always something to see! The bathroom worked well nice hot shower, The enclosed private garden is a lovely place to chill out over an evening tipple after a day's exploring. The village centre and the castle are both just a short walk away, and the beach an easy half hour stroll. The river walk straight out of the front door was a particular treat. All in all a lovely place to stay!
Gillian
Lovely cottage, very well situated right beside the Coquet. Good walks right from the door. Lots to do in the area. Highly recommended. The only very very minor point is that the front door is blue, not white as stated in the instructions to find the property!
A beautifully presented dog friendly cottage in a great location in Warkworth. The cottage has everything you could want for a very pleasant stay. The village is very attractive with a pleasant walk by the river. For longer walks be prepared for wet ground and mud in the winter months.
A lovely cottage, fully furnished with all our holiday needs, even extra towels provided for muddy dog paws! From the front door, you are able to enjoy very pleasant walks along the river and around the village. Warkworth has some really nice pubs and cafe's, all good food and friendly staff. The local beaches are amazing and well worth a visit and we can recommend the Craster kippers. All in all, a really great holiday.
Elaine
Lovely comfortable clean cottage with everything you need for cosy home from home stay. Nice touch from the owners with the voucher for the local chocolate shop thank you . The cottage is in a great position overlooking the river and with a private garden that would be lovely in warmer weather . Great communication from the owner . We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
We loved our stay, and got everything we expected. It was one of the best equipped cottages we have been in, never been able to do a baked cheesecake before, although regular washing up would be required still if you filled the house due a limit on place settings. Used dishwasher for the Christmas dinners It didn't affect the stay in any way but the photos on the website are out of date, with the furniture you could expect that and the bathroom totally being changed. Having said that don't let this put you off we loved it's position for dog walking and the local pubs, and the house itself was lovely. It's walkable to the beach, but going in the car means longer on the super beaches there. Highlight? Seeing a seal with a huge fish in the river close to the cottage
Lovely , well stocked, dog friendly cottage, overlooking the river in Warkworth. The log burner was particularly welcoming on chilly nights . Literally within spitting distance is the Masons Arms which does great food and is very welcoming for both yourselves and doggy friends. The only thing which maybe an issue for some people is the garden is opposite the cottage across a small not busy lane. It was fine for us but for people who are used to just opening the door to the garden and letting the dog out it maybe worth knowing. We loved our stay in this cottage and hope to return in the near future. Communication with the owner was excellent and nice touches like the voucher for the local chocolate shop left for us made us feel very welcome. Thank you
Such a wonderful cottage! We loved everything about this beautiful place and I am really impressive with how the owners have thought of everything. A lovely touch with the voucher and being able to use Amble leisure swimming pool. We will definitely be back! Thanks again
Caroline
Such a lovely, cosy homefromhome cottage in a great location. The property was very clean and wellmaintained with good appliances and equipment in the kitchen. The milk in the fridge, the card and voucher for a local shop, and the use of a membership to a local Leisure Centre were all very welcome and thoughtful. We would definitely book this property again.
Carole
Loved our stay again. Home from home. All you need in holiday stay and more. Lots of information for your stay for cottage and surrounding area. What a treat, voucher for chocolates Will be back
Lovely cottage right by the river, very quiet and peaceful. Warkworth beach a short sub mile walk where we saw dolphins. Nice comfy beds and furniture.
A great cottage in a beautiful location. We were very comfortable and had lots of space. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Some very nice touches from the owner.
3rd visit to the property , always very clean comfortable and has all you need for a great stay. Ang and Alison both very helpful
Gillian
Lovely house and lovely place. Everything theyre needed for a really enjoyable stay. The only thing missing was a shower mat as it was extremely slippery so that my husband couldnt use it. If we would have been staying longer I would have bought one. But a minor problem in a week. The personal greeting card and chocolate voucher was a lovely touch. Big thanks to you and the owners. I would recommend it.
It was fine, except we had some confusion over the door keys. There are two, and two locks, only one of which works, but inside there is a message asking us to double lock the door when leaving. Perhaps this is an old notice, but the top lock, in which the key does not fit, is the newer and better lock.
All round excellent accommodation. Lovely position in warkworth. Quiet with lovely views. Easy access to pub.
Lovely, comfortable and homely cottage in an amazing location. Alison was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend
Good basic dog friendly accommodation close to village centre.
Lovely property in a gorgeous location. Very well equipped.
The cottage was pretty and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. I would stay there again.
You could not find a more pleasant relaxing place to spend a holiday.
