Myrtle Cottage Reviews

Myrtle Cottage is a great holiday cottage. Literally 2 mins walk to the centre of Amble with loads of dog friendly pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. The cottage is very well equipped with comfy beds and ensuite shower rooms for each of the two bedrooms. Plus a downstairs bathroom. The kitchen is modern and had everything we needed to cook up some delicious meals. The log burner in the living room was a great asset too, although the cottage was very warm and cosy anyway so we only lit it a couple of times. Wed definitely stay at Myrtle Cottage again great hosts! Thank you! PJ
A wonderful stay in this warm and well equipped cottage. The beds were comfy with 2 ensuites and a downstairs bathroom. Only a few minutes walk to a great choice of shops, pubs, restaurants and the harbour. Easy parking outside the property and buses to Morpeth, Newcastle and coastal towns up to Berwick on Tweed. Nice messages and a welcome pack from the owner. Loved it. Well definitely book again.
Kathryn
Very clean, comfortable, well equipped accommodation. This was our second visit and was every bit as good as the first. A generous welcome pack was a lovely surprise as was the notice welcoming us back to the property. Amble is a lovely town to explore and the owner provided a detailed information pack which included the best places to eat from fish and chips to more formal meals and cafes.
Amble and the surrounding coastline were delightful but this was enhanced by the excellence of Myrtle Cottage. Absolutely no complaints. On the contrary, all aspects were hugely positive. We had a minor hiccup with the TV on arrival but a phone call to Nicki resolved the problem in jig time. Great holiday, thank you.
Had a lovely week at Myrtle Cottage. It's tastefully decorated, finished to a high standard with a comfy furniture in the living area and comfy beds. I appreciated the welcome message from the owner to check everything was ok and similarly at the end of the week. There's lots of information about the area provided too and a wellequipped kitchen. Would definitely stay again.
A great cottage in the centre of town. Very clean, good facilities. Bed and sofa comfortable. 2 shower rooms with WC upstairs and big bathroom downstairs. Plenty of towels, the showers might be a tight squeeze for some, but we were fine. Kitchen has all appliances and was also spotlessly clean. On road parking, almost always available in front of the house. Shops, cafes, pubs & supermarket nearby. We enjoyed our stay here, liked the local area
Kieron
Lovely holiday cottage, very comfortable beds and great showers, extremely clean and well equipped, very quiet at night. Really appreciated the milk and goodies, lots of lovely useful things for dogs staying. We never had a problem parking. Lovely little shops, cafes and beach within easy walking distance.
Immaculately clean and had everything and more you need for a short break. Location is perfect for the Northumberland Coast. The host hasnt scrimped on the decoration, and texted us on the day we arrived to ensure everything was ok it was. Wouldnt hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it to anyone
The property was lovely. In a very handy place. We managed to park outside the property all the time
Rosemary
A lovely cottage situated just a few minutes from the lovely Harbour and town of Amble. Very clean and comfortable and I liked the fact that the owner contacted us when we arrived to make sure everything was ok. Also the gift pack was welcomed. It has an induction hob and for those that have never used one, please read the instruction manual.

The cottage is lovely, really clean, quiet and comfortable. It is in a great situation for getting to the town, harbour and restaurants and easy parking outside on the street. We didn't need to use the buses but it looked like there was a very regular service from Amble. There are some great walks from Amble along the coast. It was our first visit to Northumberland and we really loved it so we will definitely be back. Just one small thing no way to make good coffee. How about buying a cafetiere?
A lovely place in a really convenient area. A much needed welcome pack, and Northumberland was magnificent. Owner was very solicitous.
Lovely accommodation, spotlessly clean, good central location, thoughtful extras.
Beautifully presented property, we wanted for nothing.

Beautiful cottage, clean, homely, well thought out. Ideally situated for the centre of the town, restaurants and beach. Dog friendly with everything our pampered pooches required, treats, toys, blankets etc. Bus stop just down the road from the cottage which really suited us, regular bus service. We only used the car once during our stay. I would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday. So much that we have booked again for next year. Everything you need for a weeks holiday in Myrtle cottage. Superb. First class accommodation.
Absolutely perfect holiday home, we had everything that we needed for a lovely holiday. The owner was so helpful and friendly. Amble wasnt really our cup of tea, although there were some nice places to eat and the boardwalk was a pleasant walk. We prefer somewhere with more character and a prettier aesthetic. However as we could easily walk to Warkworth and we spent a lot of time there. Also Alnmouth and Bamburgh were more our thing both easily accessible by car or I believe on the bus, We didnt get the bus due to our dog. We could have done with more information about dogs on the buses, the website wasnt clear. Pretty houses and pubs with no barbers, nail shops and bookies in sight. Just the most perfect beaches and gorgeous views.
Stephen
Excellent place to stay very dog friendly
This is a beautiful cottage in the centre of Amble. Very clean and comfortable and so would recommend to other visitors. The one issue I did find is that the location is as slightly out on the map, but within 100m.
Very tasteful furnishings and a comfortable place to stay. Excellent base for the area too.
OWNER VERY HELPFUL AND EASY TO CONTACT .
Jacqueline
The property was very clean and the beds were super comfy. It was great having ensuites in both bedrooms as well as the bathroom on ground floor. Property very central and great info in folder re local eateries. Thank you for your lovely gift pack for both the dog and ourselves. Owner very quick to respond to enquiries.
I was left by both Sykes and the owner for 24 hours without cooking facilities. The owner even came round to see the fault, she was aware of how much food we had as we were cooking an early Christma lunch Saturday lunchtime also we had a fridgefreezer food of party snacks that we were cooking on Saturday evening. The owner of the beautiful cottage saw the amount of food that we had that couldn't be cooked. We lost this food plus we were made to spend more money on eating out. This was cruel, unprofessional, disrespectful and not acceptable!! The owner Nikki also advised us that she was going out for dinner with friends who were sat outside in her car waiting for her she could have offered to contribute towards a takeaway or eating or perhaps getting an electian out although having said this she simply didn't care
Jackie
Beautiful, clean, accomodation in heart of Amble. Well equipped. Lovely welcome pack as an extra touch. Bathrooms are exceptional and beds comfortable. Log burner as well as central heating is an added bonus. I would highly recommend the little terraced house. Parking was not a problem. We had a wonderful very sunny week.
The house is modern & very well presented. The three bathrooms are super and very well kitted out. We enjoyed the living space very much and the nice touch of the welcome basket and fresh milk was much appreciated. The only downside for us was we found the double bed way too firm for us and we weren't too comfortable and didn't sleep well. Sadly there had been some new plaster work done in the second bedroom so we didn't feel we could use that space. We had been given prior notice of this.
Caroline
What a gem of a cottage very well situated for all local amenities in the lovely town of Amble. Not only did the owner provide a welcome pack for us but some welcome treats for our little dog and a basket of toys for her to play with. Highly recommend.
Fabulous comfortable cottage, everything that we needed for our weeks stay. Great location close to the shops, cafs & restaurants, & only a 5 minute walk to the harbour & to green areas for the dog. Good contact from Nikki, the owner, checking that everything was ok. Shame there is no private parking space but we managed to park outside the property most of the time.

Beautiful clean and comfortable. Perfect for our two dogs and 2 teenagers. Great base for exploring.
Cannot fault this property in any way. Everything as described and what a town. Very professional host, checked we got in ok and was available if needed. Thanks for everything.
Joanne
Fabulous holiday home! Clean, comfortable with lots of thought put into the equipment. There is a hairdryer which it didnt state in the particulars so this could be added as I took my own. Amble is a good base for exploring the area with lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants to visit.
Lesley
I have stayed at many cottages over the years and can honestly say that Myrtle cottage is a clear winner. The owner, Nikki, texted after our arrival to check everything was ok for us which we appreciated. The cottage is very well appointed the furniture is high quality and comfortable the bedrooms are large and both have ensuite showers fabulous. The large family bathroom downstairs is gorgeous. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and there was even a doggy welcome pack which my wee dog loved. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Myrtle Cottage it has everything you need to make your holiday a memorable one. We will definitely be back!
Elaine
Lovely cottage, well equipped and in a great position.
Claire
Very clean property and loved the welcome pack. Few issues to be aware of. Heating was timed snd unable to change which meant the house got cold. Used the wood burner but upstairs was left cold. Could not use bath downstairs as the bathroom was far to cold. Radiator was not sufficient. Doors to shower very small to get into. Not adequate for a medium to large person. Owner really needs to focus on outside seating area as very unappealing.
Pauline
Home from home with extra little touches so nice to stay somewhere with clear instructions for everything you might use. Excellent location its a 10 from us
Morton
The facilities were unbelievably good and more than measured up to our expectations. The quality of the fittings, beds, in fact everything made for a very comfortable stay. There is no exaggeration between the photographs and the reality, and I hope that we were able to leave the cottage in as fine a state as we found it.
Phillip
Had a great little break at myrtle cottage
