As previously location and convenience perfect. Good to see some improvements from last year, e.g. extra seating. If the owner is looking to make further improvements, perhaps it would be in extra kitchen equipment. Some smaller mugscups for the less thirsty, more wine glassesflutes for the more thirsty, a salad spinner. Also, in most Airbnb places, the arrival is brightened with a welcome pack, however small. Would have been a nice extra touch.
Lovely cottage in a great location. Everything you need for a week away, well furnished. Unusually no welcome pack, and the fire looked like it needs some TLC, with the rope sealant inside the doors falling out. Great views from the garden which again looked like it needed some TLC,old solar lights thrown in a pile and evidence of previous doggie visitors.
Lovely and comfortable, views from. The garden room are outstanding whatever the weather. We will definitely be back
Catherine
Our third stay here, already booked for next year. A beautiful well equipped cottage. Relaxing and comfortable and spotless. A credit to the cleaner. Thank you.
Rachel
We had previously stayed at this accomodation and were eager to stay again. It did not disappoint the view and waking to the sea each morning was blissful. Excellent sleeping arrangements as we bring our two parents so the downstairs bedroom is an added bonus. The reason for the lower mark was the garden was rather overgrown but that was only for a couple of days as the maintenance man arrived. Also there was not enough cups or wine glasses for our group of 6 and as it was accomodation for up to 7 this was rather disappointing. Apartment from these items which I'm sure can be rectified we would most definitely stay again.
The house & view were amazing. My children loved the location & the views & were very sad to leave!
Melanie
We had a great stay at 1 Island View and wished we could have stayed longer. The kids loved the openness, the beaches, the playground, the market, the pool at the chalet park nearby and the nature reserves. A day at Alnwick castle with the 11 yr old for some serious Harry Potter themed activities was a great hit. The adults liked the walks, the shared meals, the comfortable house, time to play games. A highlight was the Puffin Cruise out to Coquet Island to see dolphins, seals, muggins and 4 kinds of terns. Just brilliant! We'll be back.

The property is in an exceptional location. The views and the area surrounding the property are wonderful. The property was large, comfortable and clean, with lots of room for larger groups. Only a couple of minor suggestions, including drawer storage in the twin room, this could be placed at the bottom of the wardrobe. A small start off selection of essential items such as loo roll and an extra bin bag would have been appreciated . All in all, this was a fantastic property, which is a credit to the owners. We will definitely return and I would recommend this property to anyone visiting this beautiful area. Thank you.
The cottage was comfortable and in a fantastic location for beaches and all local amenities. We had young children with us and were a little worried that it would be evident that dogs also stay in the property, however we had no concerns as the cottage was lovely and clean and no evidence of dog hairs, aromas etc. It was also nice that washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and enough toilet rolls were provided, thank you. Minor improvements could be a chair stool in bedrooms difficult in single room we know, hooks behind bedroom and bathroom doors and a child safety gate at top of stairs. We spent a lot of time in the sun room with fabulous views out to sea and the welcome telescope. The children were very excited every time they saw a boat! We had a wonderful stay and fully intend to book again for next year.
Sophie
Ideal holiday accommodation for four adults, two children and a dog. Lovely setting with beaches very near, and easy walk into town. The house was clean, well equipped and comfortable with good showers. Downstairs bedroom rather small and lacking in storage space.
Josephine
Second time this year staying in this lovely cottage. Perfect for our mini break, and a downstairs bedroom and shower for my disabled elderly parents. Perfect spot for Amble Harbour as only a few minutes walk and there is a little cove over the sand dunes seconds away from the house. Watched the Christmas light switch on and the parade in Amble, such an amazing friendly community
Rosemary
Cottage has a lot of internal steps which are a potential trip hazard Lighting is extremely bright and would benefit from dimmer switches. Bath very high and difficult to get into for a shower. A grab handle would be useful Huge mound of earth outside conservatory completely blocks view when seated....
Location is excellent. View across to the harbour in the sun room is the outstanding feature. Easy walking to town and beach. Family friendly.
A lovely comfortable property. We spent most of our time in the sunroom enjoying the wonderful view of the sea.
Klaire
Lovely property the garden could be made a lot more accessible ie for older ... Lovely property the garden could be made a lot more accessible ie for older people like myself or even wheelchair users Apart from that lovely we would come again
Amanda
This house is in a lovely location and only a short walk to Amble. The main selling point is definitely the sea views which are absolutely beautiful and you could sit for hours looking out. The house is a really good size, lovely bedrooms and lots of space. Unfortunately the cleanliness of this house really let it down. A lot of the reviews and even the guest book said it was spotless but we didn't find this. The floor in the sun room had lots of dog hairs, some in clumps, which was really unpleasant especially as my 15 month old was on the floor playing with his toys which were then getting lots of hair on them. There was also a sticky patch on the floor which had a clump of hair stuck to it so clearly hadn't been cleaned. The bath mats in the two bathrooms were mouldy and the downstairs one had lots of hair tangled around it. There were also hairs on the downstairs bathroom floor and in the shower. This is so disappointing as other than that, it would have been really wonderful. I hope this feedback helps you improve the cleanliness for guests in the future. Thank you.
Catherine
A beautiful well equipped cottage. Spotlessly clean, a credit to your cleaning team. We have booked again for next year. Just to inform you, there were several dog poos left in the garden from the previous occupants which we cleaned up. Just a worry when children are playing in the garden.
Great location in a lovely town. Fantastic view from the sun room every morning.
Graham
Been here several times before, always good. Now refurbished a complete makeover and better than ever.
The cottage surpassed expectations. Very clean and comfortable. The sunroom is a bonus with views out to sea. Perfectly located for many places to visit within 3045min drive. The dunes alongside the cottage provided quiet early morningevening strolls, listening to oystercatchers. Highly recommended.
Morris
Stayed at island view before. Ideal house and position
Valerie
Very clean and comfortable. Third visit to Island view. Only place weve stayed with no welcome pack. Small thing and didnt spoil our stay but had to go out again to get milk after a traffic heavy journey. Simply some milk in the fridge would be a bonus. Otherwise excellent facilities
Angela
We had a lovely week at island view. The improvements have made a big difference to the property, making it more comfortable. It is a great base for getting around and about. We love the sun room just relaxing and watching the sea. The weather was good to us and managed to visit Almouth beach daily with Flash. Thank you for a lovely stay. Stephen Angela and Flash
A beautiful house so cosy and comfortable, it was immaculate and all our family loved it, spectacular views from the sun room of the ocean just couldnt fault anything about it and will definitely rebook another visit.
Anthony
Lovely cottage in a great location. Very modern, warm and inviting. The host was happy to help with an issues. 4th time we have stayed.
Was a lovely place to stay. The views from the sunroom were amazing. A good place to stay to access the facilities in Amble. Plenty of great places to eat. Also a good base to explore Northumberland. We would definitely stay again.
I know the cleaners have a lot to do but I ended up cleaning out the cutlery ... I know the cleaners have a lot to do but I ended up cleaning out the cutlery drawers and putting everything through the dishwasher as full of crumbs, the grill was left dirty and when I went to clean the toilets accidentally knocked over the brush holder and it was full of brown water
The property was fabulous with everything you could want and it was very clean. It's in a fabulous position. I only gave NC&C 5 as they didn't answer my phone calls or reply to my email.
Rachel
Such a wonderful property well equipped. The whole family including the dogs were fully relaxed. We planned on going out some evenings but the sunset views were too beautiful to miss we will definitely be booking again.
Maureen
Weve been visiting the property for a few years and are impressed with the refurbishment carried out by the new owners. Small niggles such as lack of seating on the decking could be rectified quite easily but it was an issue for us when all 7 wished to socialise and enjoy the view from the rear garden. However, all in all, a lovely, comfortable, clean and well equipped house with spectacular views.
We absolutely love this cottage. Came in 2021 and can see the improvements in carpets, sofas and beds. Great location. Wonderful sun room and views from the garden. Saw two dolphins from the top bench in the garden. A very special place. Thank you and we'll be back.
Stephen
In general an excellent holiday property with everything needed for our party of seven. Unfortunately we had issues with the downstairs bathroom drainage even though the guidance on useage was adhered to. This did not get resolved before the end of our stay leaving the second bathroom unusable. Overall a lovely property and superb location ! Would definitely stay again.
Catherine
Fabulous weather, fabulous cottage and fabulous holiday.
Barbara
This was our 2nd visit to this cottage. Although we enjoyed the first visit in February, since the refurbishment with all new furnishings, carpets etc it is a truly wonderful , comfortable and really special place to stay. The location is fabulous within a 2 min walk from a beach where you can collect sea glass, only 10 min walk into Amble and you can just stay in and enjoy the changing seascape in the sun room. Everything provided was new , the towels were a bonus and a great size too. New benches were also delivered while we were there adding even more comfort to the outdoor deck. 5 stars given and well deserved for this property. Will have to save up to return next year.
Richard
We stayed last year but since the upgrade this is now the best cottage ever, and we have stayed in lots over the past ten years. The view is totally fantastic for watching the sea and the upgrade in the house itself makes it a five star cottage.
Christopher
A well equipped and comfortable house in a great position, with lovely sea views. Very good for dogs, with coastal walks from the house, an Amble centre a pleasant walk away. We are highly likely to book again.
The house was in a fantastic location and could be a really lovely property, but it was very tried and could do with a proper deep clean there was cobwebs and dust everywhere. Also there was building work taking place directly opposite the house and we feel it would have been considerate to give guests the heads up on this particularly as it was noisy at times and the builders would randomly appear on the property using the outside water tap etc.
Relaxing peaceful and everything on the doorstep lovely walks on the beach and lots to do in the area
Lovely views, good location within walking distance of the town, parking next to the cottage is a bonus!
