Driftwood Apartment Reviews

The apartment was clean, well equipped and in an excellent location for Amble restaurants and for exploring Northumberland. The rating we have given for accuracy of listing is because the property has 1 bathroom and a downstairs toilet 2 bathrooms are on the listing. The 'comfort' rating is on the recommendation that the twin room would benefit from new bedding, including duvets. A small expense that would make a big difference. Overall a very enjoyable stay in Amble.
Georgina
Apartment convenient for supermarket, harbour, restaurants and takeaways. Lots of interesting places and attractions within a short drive away, although we have to say that Alnwick Gardens were a disappointment for the price charged. Also, there was no concession for pensioners.
Cottage was lovely, very clean and tidy. There was no shortage of utensils, we could not have asked for more. There was even sugar, teabags and condiments. My only criticism is that the mattresses on the single beds are a bit tired and dated. These could do with renewing.
James Keith
Nice place to stay it is well equipped, needs info on recycling and day of bin collection. Stairs are steep. Bed very comfy and clean. Close to all shops, amenities and harbour.
Such a fantastic apartment this was our third visit. Cosy, clean & ideally located, with everything you need provided. We will be back again!
Elaine
Great location and the parking space was a bonus even if, initially, reversing in & out was a test of my driving skills. The apartment is everything it promised, very well equipped & quiet. Almost instant hot water, a good shower, everything needed in the kitchen even a knife sharpener & a hand blender blackout blindscurtains in the bedroom, good quality bedding & plenty of towelsteatowels. It feels mean to mention a couple of very minor quibbles 1. as other reviewers have noted, the double bed dips slightly in the middle. 2. the lightbulb in the oven isn't working and the bulb cover is filthy with grease. This puzzled me as the oven itself is clean. My husband offered to clean the lamp cover but couldn't remove it from its fitting. Highly recommended. We would certainly return.

We had a lovely week in this comfortable and welcoming apartment. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you may need and is only a short walk away from the centre of Amble which has a great range of cafes, restaurants and shops. The only downside was the off road parking, which was quite tight for two family sized cars to pass each other.
Lovely cottage clean and tidy will stay again everything you need is in the cottage. Amble is lovely and its easy to get to all other areas we had a great week away
Teresa
Lovely apartment to stay in. Very well stocked with all cooking utensils and crockery.
Apartment has everything you need, very handy for shops, cafe etc. And a good base for visiting other surrounding places . Loved every minute.
A lovely apartment in the centre of Amble. Despite mixed weather plenty to do in the area. The apartment was beautifully clean. A bigger car does make parking a little difficult but we could get in and out without disturbing the lower apartment as it is shared car space. There is a small area to sit out if the weather is good. Television was fine. Amble is a lovely town with lots of places for coffee, drinks or food. I would recommend this apartment.
Great apartment tucked away from the high street nice and quiet with parking shared with the downstairs apartment . big comfortable bed with adequate storage nice bath and shower cubicle loads of hot water . lovely kitchendiner living room very comfortable and finished to a high standard free netflix a bonus . only 23 minutes walk to the harbour , 50yards across the road is a tesco express and the high street with loads if independent shops and bars . really liked the coquet tea rooms and the fire house for food . lovely stay would recommend a stay here
Michael
The unit is nicely furnished altho you might say it is on a back street it is very quiet and peaceful and not too far from harbour. Main street and places to eat. Great to have off street parking. Location great for visiting places around. Only marked down as the fan to the fire very noisy, the cold tap in the bathroom leaks, as for accuracy of information the washer is just that and not a dryer as well
Great property in fantastic location. ideal for visiting costal and other attractions in the area.very comfy and had everything you could possibly need. would definitely book again if we were in the same location in the future.
Lovely spacious apartment which felt like home every day when we returned from our trips out. Good facilities in the apartment, excellent position in the town and easy access to go anywhere in the area. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend the apartment to our family & friends.
Graham
Comfortable and clean accomodation. Ideal for walking to the sea front and to nearby attractions such as Warkworth Castle which we loved. Amble is a lovely little seaside town, tasty ice cream and stunning sunsets. Lovely Italian restaurant nearby. Would love to return one day.
A well appointed and very clean apartment. 2 minutes from shops and 5 minutes from the harbour. Have stayed here 3 times now and Im sure that we shall be going again.
A lovely property, Amble is a delightful town. The off street parking is a great bonus.

Everything seems to have been thought of for the comfort and convenience of the holidaymaker. As a solo traveller, I especially appreciated the excellent TV and WiFi. The harbour is only a 3 minute walk away. Having offroad parking is great, though there would have been no problem finding nearby unrestricted street parking maybe not in high season. Although the apartment is of modest size, it is bright and nicely presented and not overlooked. Amble is a good tourist centre with its own attractions around the busy harbour, not highly commercialised and tucked into a beautiful stretch of the coast. It is well worth taking advantage of the Sunday market at the harbour to stock up on food for the week.
What a beautiful apartment in Amble. Very comfortable and equipped, the property is in a great position for accessing the town, Harbour Village and the beach. Off road parking was a bonus too. We had a wonderful time and will be back!
The bathroom fan was noisy. The living room fire fan was noisy. The outside lights werent coming on automatically. The storage heating could do with an upgrade to make it more heat and energy efficient.
It was a lovely apartment and a lovely place with everything you need
A well appointed, tastefully decorated, very clean apartment situated in the centre of a hidden gem of a seaside town, i. E. Amble. What's not to like! We will be back.
A grand flat CHAMPION
We enjoyed our stay. The flat is comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent, only a short stroll from the harbour. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. It was also nice to have a private outside seating area at the back of the building. The previous occupants must have put a lot of dishes and glasses away which weren't clean. This of course is not the fault of the owner, who was pleasant and helpful during a phone call before our holiday. Our only issue really was the parking. It's good to have off road parking but two family cars did not fit easily into the space which was really quite tight. We parked on the road a couple of times but there is no guarantee of a space there. Overall we were happy our stay and would recommend the flat for a holiday in Amble.
Louisa
Nice clean well equipped flat in good location to explore the locality.
Sharron
Driftwood is a lovely apartment very clean and all you need bed was comfortable. Close to Ambel Harbour a good walk and coffee in the mornings the tea and gift shop on the High Street. Would recommend a drive along the coast to Seahouses. Thank you Driftwood for a well needed rest. Sharron
Tracey
Generally a nice apartment in a good location. Amble is a nice little place with some lovely places to eat. The apartment was generally clean and tidy and nicely presented.
Rebecca
Perfectly situated for all Ambles amenities, with the added bonus of an off road parking space. Once up the steep staircase the apartment is light and bright, with everything you need to feel at home. A very comfortable bed helps you nod off happily. Very cosy at night, with the glow from the electric fire, and the storage heaters once mastered give out enough heat to keep you warm. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space to prepare a meal and chat. I'm a fuss pot when it comes to cleanliness and find with most cottages we stay I have to spend sometime cleaningon arrival, but it was not at all necessary here, it was exceptionally clean. We loved our stay and will most definitely book again. Heartily recommend.
Hilary
The flat we stayed in was pretty much 'central Amble, easy for shops and eating places. Very clean, warm and comfortable with everything we needed. A good place to be used as a base for sightseeing.
The owner kept in touch regards an issue from the previous occupants before us, he arranged for the issue to be sorted while we were there. Highly recommend staying here.
The apartment was perfect. The living space was wonderful the kitchen was well stocked with china, microwave and equipment for proper cooking, and the sofas were comfortable. The washing machine was brilliant and there was a dryer to hang wet clothes up. The wifi was reliable essential with teens!, the TV set up was great and it really was like home from home. Everything was there to have a really relaxing stay. The beds were comfy and as it was warm we had the windows open at night but were not disturbed by any noises. Lovely quiet and peaceful sleeping! There was also off road parking which made a big difference. The owner was very approachable, kind and helpful, especially when we accidentally left a coat at the property. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and would recommend this accommodation.
Fridge not working efficiently and think it had failed by the end of the week. Apart from that a very enjoyable week.
Fabulous apartment in a great locality and parking was an added bonus. Would highly recommend this place for a stay in Amble
Very nice apartment, well located for shops and sea front. Plus has off road parking. Quite location. Amble ideal as a touring base.
Ideal location for visiting local area and places of interest.
Elaine

Lovely apartment in a great location for exploring the local area and the local shops and restaurants. The apartment would benefit from having a welcome booklet explaining how the heating etc worked.
